Community Sustainability Center

Response to the devastation caused by Hurricane Maria. Support and education for residents and business owners so they can mitigate the damage and rebuild their communities collaboratively and resiliently, with a promising future of social and economic growth.

The Community Sustainability Center (CSC) of P.E.C.E.S. emerged after Hurricanes Irma and Maria to promote community recovery through a focus on self-management, solidarity, and sustainability. Its mission was to support Punta Santiago in becoming a resilient community, empowering its residents through well-being and solidarity-based economic development. Thanks to this effort, P.E.C.E.S. impacted more than 94,000 people with essential services and comprehensive support.

Services offered:

Distribution of hot meals, drinking water, and canned goods.

Psychological services and legal assistance.

Distribution of medicines, clothing, diapers, and cleaning supplies.

Distribution of tools, water filters, and solar lamps.
